Oman Air Business Class Review: Boutique Luxury in the Sky (With a Middle Eastern Soul)
If you have ever really wanted that Business Class experience which feels a bit more personalized, a little more refined – and quite frankly, all the more exceptional – then Oman Air may surprise you.
It is not the loudest airline. Nor the most highly publicized one. But that is somewhat the point itself.
Oman Air really drives forward that type of quiet luxury that we would say features beautiful design, thoughtful services, and experiences that all appear very calm from start to end. It’s that type of airline where you will hardly notice any great rush, be surrounded by people, or feel way too exhausted.
So, if you are taking a long-distance flight and thinking about trying out Oman Air, here’s what it really entails – set out in plain, simple language as if to your best mate.
Airport Experience

Let’s begin at the airport since your first impression really matters. Flying business class (or first, where available), you get all those things one would expect. Priority check-in, expedited security, priority boarding, and quicker baggage delivery upon arrival.
However, where Oman Air actually stands out is at the Muscat International Airport itself. Their business and first-class lounge there doesn’t really look like another run-of-the-mill airport lounge and is more akin to a very modern Arabian refuge.
The design is simply amazing – with warm hues, some elegant patterns, and loads of space. It will be very peaceful for you. You may take a seat and enjoy table service, or serve yourself from a buffet.
There will be a fully stocked bar, top-class drinks, and authentic Arabic coffee if you’re looking for something rather more regional.

Then there are the additional features that no other airline typically has, but you can get on Oman Air. Showers. Some restrooms are called nap rooms. Prayer rooms. Perfectly quiet spaces so you could relax there.
Some passengers will get access to a concierge-style service too, which takes care of all your needs perfectly, further enhancing that incredibly smooth ‘taken-care-of’ ambiance itself. If you’re changing planes through Muscat, this part of the trip itself really will make a difference.
Seats & Cabin

Once you are on board, Oman Air will continue with that very same level of serenity and refinement. During a long-haul journey, you’ll be flying aboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner or the Airbus A330. Now here’s something to bear in mind.

On the Dreamliner, the arrangement is 2-2-2 so that not all seats really have straight access to the aisle itself. This could make a difference if you’re flying alone.
But the trade-off is that the seats themselves are rather broad. They turn into completely flat beds – about 77 to 80 inches in length – so you can actually lie down and get a proper night’s sleep, in fact. The width isn’t too far off (approximately 22 inches) either, and there will be privacy screens available that you can set to suit just how private you want to feel.

If you are traveling with someone else, this setup is almost perfect, actually. You can lounge and eat together comfortably, quite easily, whilst hardly feeling apart.

The design is pretty standard Oman Air style – woodwork highlights, comfortable leather, and very pleasant lighting. It really does look beautiful, but won’t be too much at all. There will also be loads of storage room for all your belongings, plus there are charging outlets and reading lights set up right where they’re needed most.

All in all, it’s not the most up-to-date seat in the skies. But it will be really comfortable, very large, and incredibly easy to find yourself relaxing right away.
Dining

Well, this is one of the really special bits. Oman Air’s food is truly enjoyable and really has its own identity. You’re not merely receiving standard airline fare. You’ll get an interesting blend of Omani and international cuisine, making the experience itself appear ever so slightly more unique.
Meals are presented over several courses, with the finest table settings – white tablecloth, actual cutlery, and highly impressive presentation.
You may see dishes such as: lamb shuwa (slow-cooked and very tender), mezze platters imbued with Middle Eastern flavors, fresh seafood, and Arabic sweets for dessert. And all of it will be put together with great care.
Drinks are no less excellent either. There’s champagne, wines, and cocktails, but also traditional elements like Arabic coffee, and these add something ever so slightly different to the experience itself.
And like a lot of top airlines, Oman Air provides dine-on-demand options so that you can eat at any hour you wish. Want to eat straight away, then have a sleep? Go for it. Want to enjoy a long, leisurely meal, taking things easy? Perfect again.
Entertainment & Wi-Fi

Your entertainment system is solidly built and very easy to use. You will have your own screen with a rather varied selection of content – from Hollywood movies to Arabic films and TV series, music, and much more. It’s really not too complex, which is quite nice on that long flight itself.
Noise-canceling headphones are provided so you can watch or hear things undisturbed. Wi-Fi is present in almost all long-distance flights. It’s just right for some basic messaging and a bit of light internet use. Truly perfect if you really want to be online without attempting a heavy load of work.
Amenities

Here’s where Oman Air really gets down to details. You’ll receive an opulent amenity pack featuring Amouage, which immediately tells you it’s going to be very impressive. Inside, there will be all sorts of things, such as body lotion, facial cream, lip balm, and other vital stuff, so you’ll feel refreshed throughout your flight.
Additionally, there is a dental kit, shaving kit, socks, eye mask, and many other items – everything you’ll truly require.
But the real jewel of the show is the bedding. You will receive a quilted duvet, a comfort pillow, cotton sleepwear, and slippers.
When your seat has been changed over into a bed, it will have a very cozy atmosphere. It isn’t simply “plane comfortable” itself – seriously, it’s quite comfortable.
Every single minor detail really catches the eye. The lighting is a soothing light; the cabin is fairly silent, and the crew is paying attention all the time, yet they aren’t too overpowering.
They pop over when they’re supposed to and tell you to rest if that’s what you’d prefer to do.
Bottom Line
Oman Air might not immediately spring to mind as an airline people think of, but it really should be. You’ll get luxurious lie-flat seats, beautiful lounge experiences in Muscat, truly unique Omani cuisine, and premium touches such as Amouage amenities and that perfect bedding.
It’s going to be a boutique-style Business Class experience, feeling very personalized, rather than many of the larger airlines.
And then there’s the part a lot of people miss out on: You’ll usually be able to book Oman Air Business Class with Simply Business Class (SBC) for up to 50 percent lower than regular prices.
That means you’re having a very refined and completely calming long-haul flight – without paying those top luxury costs all the time. Honestly, once you have this sort of experience… You wonder why all flights aren’t as smooth.
