Cathay Pacific’s Aria Suite: The Future of Business Class Privacy
Cathay Pacific has upped its game in high-end travel by rolling out the Aria Suite. It is a Business Class offering so private, well-designed, and packed with technology that it verges on First Class.
This new product can be found on some of Cathay’s Boeing 777-300ERs. Here, beautiful design, individual “pods,” and lots of cool features have been brought together to give a feeling of being not just perfectly looked after, but also totally relaxed. Let’s dive in.
Airport Experience & Lounge Access

From the moment Aria Suite passengers check in, they are treated exceptionally well. There are special counters for them, and check-in is faster.
Once their luggage has been dropped off and they have their boarding passes, these travellers go straight through security and immigration.
And at airports such as London Heathrow or Vancouver International with flights to Hong Kong, they can board as soon as pre-boarding finishes, so there are no crowds if they don’t want there to be.
Lounge access is also high-end. Guests in Aria Suites can use Cathay Pacific lounges as well as those of Oneworld partners.

At Hong Kong International Airport, this often means The Pier, where you will find spaces to relax in peace, a buffet with a wide selection of hot and cold food, staffed bars, private booths that are perfect for a quick snooze, and showers.
Free Wi-Fi is available for those who need to work (or shop online), while many people take advantage of the complimentary dining and drinks to unwind before a flight. It feels more like a ritzy restaurant than an airport lounge.
Aircraft, Routes & Availability

The Aria Suite is now available on Boeing 777-300ER planes that have been refurbished to include 45 suites. These are set out in a configuration where rows of seats alternate between one and two next to the windows, and then one and one in the middle.
Each seat can recline to a fully flat sleeping position and measures approximately 78 inches long by 21 inches wide. If you’re seated in one of the middle seats, sliding panels can be adjusted to give you more privacy from passengers walking by.
Cathay Pacific’s high-density seating rollout is well underway: seven 777s have been completed with an estimated finalcompletion date by December 2027. All new 777-9s will also get these beds.
Currently, routes include Hong Kong to London Heathrow plus Vancouver International Airport (daily), Sydney Kingsford Smith (3x weekly). But do check online before booking because aircraft and timetables can change regularly.
Comfortable Seats

Business class travel has been taken to new heights with the Aria Suite on Cathay Pacific’s Boeing 777-300ER. It doesn’t just prioritise comfort – although there’s plenty of that – but also privacy, style, and clever design touches.

Each seat is bordered by high walls and comes with a sliding door, effectively creating a sky-high cocoon for passengers. Those sat in middle pairs also get adjustable privacy panels: slide them up if you want to be alone, or down for a chinwag.
The overall look of the cabin is soothingly contemporary. Expect lots of creams, taupes, and soft greens alongside woodgrain effects and suede-like finishes.

These aren’t just there for aesthetics, though. Materials have been chosen for their sound-absorbing qualities, too. Result? Even when full of people, it’s surprisingly hushed – ideal for both relaxing and working on long-haul routes.
When designing the seat, ergonomics was a top priority. As a result, it not only converts into a bed that stretches 78 inches for comfortable sleeping. Its sculpted padding and lumbar support also make sense (as does having wide shoulder space).

You’ll find plenty of storage within your personal area. Here are compartments underneath arms, sliding trays, and mirrors near vanity items, so everything stays handy. Touchscreen technology lets you adjust seats (they do things like recline or become firm) and even set lighting moods.
There are further controls for overhead bins and call buttons, should cabin crew be required.
Dining

One of the best things about flying on routes that have the Aria Suite is the dining. Passengers can enjoy a meal tailored to their tastes, with dishes from both Hong Kong and elsewhere.
Starters are dainty, while you might pick from main courses such as fresh seafood or top-notch Western-Asian fusion food. Desserts include treats popular in Hong Kong, like egg tarts or modern takes on them – plus drinks such as milk tea.
If you don’t feel like eating when meals are served, pre-order snacks or wine from an à la carte menu. There’s also champagne available throughout the flight.
In-Flight Entertainment, Tech & Connectivity

If Aria Suite uses technology well, it enhances comfort. Each suite has one of the biggest screens in business class for Cathay: a 24-inch 4K Ultra HD model.
You can link your own Bluetooth headphones to the system – but if you prefer, high-quality wired or noise-cancelling pairs are provided. The touchscreen entertainment system does more than show films.
There’s also a map charting the progress of your flight, plus controls for your seat and its lights. An occupancy display for the lavatory is included, too.
When it comes to power options, there should be more than enough to keep all your devices charged up: USB-C, USB-A, and a standard AC outlet feature.
On some surfaces, wireless charging is built in. However, its reliability may need to be proven when this service is rolled out.
Business-class passengers on many routes will be able to go online at no extra cost (Wi-Fi). Although, depending on the aircraft type, higher bandwidth could be restricted or chargeable
Amenity Kit

After you step into the new Business Class section on Cathay Pacific’s aircraft and settle into an Aria Suite, you’ll be able to enjoy a top-of-the-line amenity kit. This kit has been specially designed to match the luxury service and overall look of the cabin.
The airline has teamed up with British wellness brand Bamford to provide bedding as well as skincare products found in the kit. There are several colour choices available for the kit, adding a personal touch and making it more visually appealing.
Open it up and you’ll find all sorts of goodies to help make your flight more comfortable: things like socks, earplugs, a toothbrush, and toothpaste.
But there’s also an array of Bamford skincare products, such as body balm, hand and face cream, and a facial mist. Items like these aren’t just useful for long-haul travel. They help passengers arrive looking refreshed, too.
Bottom Line
Aria Suite changes typical Business Class seats. It provides passengers with their own personal space while flying. Each suite comes with a closing door, a fully flat bed for sleeping, gentle lighting, top-notch entertainment options, and delicious meals. It is all presented in an attractive setting.
Yes, this new product is still being introduced and some features (such as wireless charging) are being perfected. But Aria Suite already ranks among the best long-haul Business Class experiences available.
If you’re planning a trip that will take eight or more hours and want to travel in comfort with lots of privacy plus a dash of style, then make a beeline for the Aria Suite.
And if you book through Simply Business Class, you can do so at half price – meaning top-notch service suddenly becomes affordable for lots of smart travellers.
